So, days/nights ago, I was talking to an old friend. It was pretty good and funny, really. It was like the golden days.

I guess it proved he-who-must-be-seduced’s (JUST KIDDING) pseudotheory. When you can joke about a lot of things about the past, it goes to show that they’re really in the past.

And, we are really so old. Haha. Woe!

Dear Jesus,

You’ve been so faithful to me. Even when I’ve been pretty much ignoring you for a while. I know, I know, we used to be so close.

But you’ve stayed.

You’re pretty amazing, you know that? Of course you do. You just have a way of sneaking into my life to love me. You love me through Hinduism, damn it! (Oh shit, am I allowed to say damn and shit when I talk to you?) Anyway, I just wanted to say I think I’ve given up trying to resist that love. I know I don’t deserve it. To hell with deserving. (I’m sure that last line made you laugh, haha! Yay we have an inside joke!)

I think it’s really cool that you’re making this sem’s fourth hell week in a row actually a very easy week in terms of academics. I mean, of course I have a ton of papers and exams to finish, but see, I’m taking five minutes off just now to let you know that I am finding you here. That you made me a big enough nerd to interact with all my readings, and now that I have to write papers, I don’t even have to think anymore: I see all the answers scribbled on the margins of my books, because you made me a nerd and I like to write down my philosophic criticism on the text itself. And even in that, as I go through Epistemology and Aesthetics and all the other hardcore nosebleed things, I see you. I know you love me. “The Bible tells me so,” I think, is a pretty lame reason: there’s this thing called empirical validity. And you meet that. You don’t just tell me so. You do. In the smallest, most tangible ways. And I just wanted to tell you that I really believe it.

I’m looking forward to dating you this weekend. We need the quality alone time. I ditched the beach for you. And other stuff.

It’s probably highly unorthodox to say this, but it’s true—I miss you. Dinner tonight, my love. :)
