"Things don’t always turn out well. Sometimes they don’t turn out at all. Sometimes everything falls apart and we wonder if there’s any point to any of it. We’re tempted to shut ourselves off, fortify the walls around our hearts, and forge ahead, promising ourselves that we will never open ourselves up like that again. But I have to believe that we can recover from anything."

IT’S TIME FOR MEN OUT THERE TO BE REAL MEN.
—-
Our society is teaching men how to be lame, domestically emasculated pussies. Now is the time for men to be real men: fighting battles, getting scarred, leading nations and changing the world for the better. Just like what real men do. It ain’t that “macho-chauvinist-misogynist-brawny” garbage - it’s about BEING A MAN: passionate, manly, strong, adventurous and full of integrity. It’s time to be a real man, man.

There is something interesting happening right now. For the past few weeks I had an epiphany. It’s all very clear now. :)Lately, I have been reminded of “what does it take to become a real man”, and what I found out is this: the adventure is in his heart. ;)
I read the book “WILD AT HEART” a few months back, I just read Jim Paredes’ take about that book just now, and for the past few weeks I have consciously decided to get out of my seat and do some things that men do - doing physical stuff, spear-heading physically-challenging activities to improve one’s situation, and getting my hands dirty while doing adventurous things on the great outdoors. :)Admit it, men - if you are the real deal you find the concept of being domesticated a problematic thing. ;) The word itself, “being emasculated” is as scary as the scariest thing you could possibly imagine. :)Lately, society is telling us that it is okay for men to be wimps - for men to be fairies and prissy-stubbled emos. But that’s not what real men are all about. With all due respect to everyone, I think it’s about time that we, men, should take a noble stand. I agree: men should be men and should stand by it. We should be leaders, innovators, conquerors; allowing ourselves to be gritty, gruff, scruffy, assertive, inspiring, physical, wise, intelligent and brave. That’s why men have beards and that’s why we’re physically strong, adept and originally constructed to be agile. I miss movies depicting what real men should be doing: Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, the films of Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood, Fernando Poe, Jr., the James Bond films, Al Pacino films, Robert De Niro stuff - you name it. Thank God for Daniel Craig - he brought back the animalistic, panther-like appeal of Bond that some of his predecessors have missed to portray. And yeah, at least there are still men like Robert Downey Jr., Hugh Jackman and George Clooney in modern films who depict men as men with sensitivity and a lot of heart. Vulnerable, yes, approachable, of course, understanding, you betcha - but hey, THEY’RE NOT WIMPS. You know what I’m saying? It doesn’t mean that we men should be as cold as a stone ala-Dolph Lundgren and not be vulnerable and sensitive enough. No. We should be men with hearts - not wimps or prissy tinkerbells with emasculated souls.Men should be men: having the thirst for the great outdoors, getting their hands dirty to move the world for better progress, making hard decisions, taking a stand, getting into their own personal jungles and conquering the beasts; being Alpha Males while leading packs of passionate men and women, hungry for positive change. I’m sick and tired of all the garbage. I’m sick of men who whine and babble like girls on heavy make up. I’m sick of men who are too concerned of getting their hands dirty, or afraid of getting their gels destroyed by the sun because they don’t want to clean their own lawn. It’s just the most ridiculous thing. Men should be men and must be manly enough to do manly things. Challenge ‘to sa aten, mga boys. :)Even girls dig the real deal, see: women love real men. Real women dig the man’s man - men who are proud to be men - who are strong enough to take care of them, or team up with their competence. It turns them on, I guess. Hehe. ;)May this be an encouragement to all men out there.
It’s time to be a real man, man. ;)
